This privacy policy describes how the Association for Women in Cryptocurrency (“AWIC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and otherwise processes personal data of visitors to our website (available online at https://www.womenincrypto.org/) and other online properties (together, the “Services”).

When you use the Services (for example, by registering for an AWIC membership or engaging in interactive features on our website, including webinars, contests, promotions, or challenges), we typically collect your name, contact information (email address, phone number) username, password, location (city, state, country), last four digits of your payment card, and any other information you may choose to provide.

    2. ii. Surveys and questionnaires. We may contact you to participate in surveys or other questionnaires to collect feedback. If you decide to participate, you may be asked to provide certain personal data.

    3. iii. Communications with us. We may collect your name, email address, or telephone number when you request information about our Services, request user or technical support, or otherwise communicate with us. We also collect your preferences in receiving marketing communications from us.

When you apply to a job posting available through our Services, we will typically collect your name, contact information (email address, phone number, postal address), employment and education history, and any other personal information you may choose to share in a cover letter or CV.

    1. i. Activities. Details of the activities you carry out when using our Services.   1. c. Information that we obtain from third parties

    We may also obtain information about you from third parties, such as sponsors that share with us the registration list for an event in which you were involved and/or attended. We require that such sponsors obtain the consent of each such individual prior to sharing their information with us.

II. How We Use Your Information

AWIC collects only the personal data we need in order to offer and support our Services. We may also be required to collect, process, and retain your data in fulfillment of our legal obligations. We use your data for the following business purposes:

  1. a. Provide, monitor, maintain, personalize, optimize, and improve the Services, including research and analytics regarding use of the Services, or to remember you when you leave and return to the Services;

III. How We Share Your Information

AWIC may share your data to ensure that we can provide you with the Services for which you have contracted. We may share certain information with:

    We share data with service providers, such as consultants, who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf. Service providers help us with website hosting, data analysis, information technology and related infrastructure, customer service, processing membership dues, and email delivery.

The use of data by an authorized third party is subject to the third party’s privacy policy and any agreements you have with the third party. These include third parties who provide a link through our Services, who integrate with our Services, or who otherwise serve as a third-party intermediary.   3. c. Sponsors.
    We share data with our sponsors who help host our events and assist with providing programming. If you would like us to refrain from sharing your data with our sponsors, please contact us with your request.

    We will share data with third parties in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets, or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings) and, in each case, any due diligence relating thereto.
